Living in Downtown Portland puts everything at your finger tips. From views of Mt. Hood, to easy access to entertainment, transportation, and downtown office buildings. This core area has traditionally been the business center of Portland with many high-rise office buildings dominating the landscape. Over the past few decades, and especially the last 10 years, many high rise condo buildings have added to the mix and now there are many more choices for those wishing to live in a very urban environment
The Pearl District is to the north of Downtown, anchored by the "Brewery Blocks" which was the former home of Blitz Weinhard Brewery for most of the last century. Now this area is upscale condos and some of the best restaurants in Portland. There are two distinct building options for Pearl condos. One is the old warehouse buildings that were converted into ‘loft’ style units. The second are the new buildings which were designed and built in the last 10 years. The new buildings offer underground parking (which is a major amenity) and some have fitness rooms and pools. Most building are between four and eight stories high. Prices start in the mid to high $250’s for a 500 square foot studio and go up from there. When buying a condo, it is very important to take note of the monthly HOA dues. They range between $240 to over $700 per month.
Riverfront condos along the Willamette river in downtown are the next option. Riverplace includes condos, upscale apartments, restaurants, marina, shops, athletic club, park and office space. Condos are newer with parking and amenities. Views are of Mt Hood and the river. It is adjacent to our 73 acre waterfront park which hosts many summer events including Rose Festival, The Blues Festival, Bite of Portland, and more. Prices in Riverplace start in the low $300’s and go up from there.
This new building at the north edge of the Pearl District in Downtown Portland offers spectacular views from almost every unit. To the East is Mt. Hood, the Convention Center, Willamette River, and Historic Union Station. To the North-West is the spectacular Fremont Bridge and the West Hills. These units are modern open and bright. They are also more affordable than many of the other areas of the Pearl.
